Listen Later, provided by Maybe Later LLC, converts submitted content such as links, emails, newsletters, PDFs, pasted text, HTML, and images into personal podcast audio using extraction, AI text cleanup, and text-to-speech technology. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, retain, and let users control information for Listen Later, including the ChatGPT and Codex integrations.
Account information: We collect the email address, password, authentication tokens, account settings, credit balance information, purchase records, and related account metadata needed to create, secure, and manage your Listen Later account. Payment card details are handled by payment processors such as Stripe or Apple, not stored directly by Listen Later.
Submitted content: We collect content you send for conversion, including links, emails, newsletters, PDFs, pasted text, HTML, images, attachments, extracted text, generated titles, source URLs, and generated audio and feed information.
ChatGPT and Codex integrations: When you use the Listen Later app in ChatGPT or the Listen Later plugin in Codex, we receive only the data needed to complete your explicit request. This may include ChatGPT or Codex request metadata; OAuth authorization data; account-linking form values such as email, password, and whether you are linking or creating an account; submitted text title, text body, optional source URL, optional source app, and optional idempotency key; and PDF submission data such as title, source app, optional idempotency key, public HTTPS PDF URL, or host-provided file parameters containing a temporary download URL, file id, MIME type, and file name.
Tool results returned to ChatGPT or Codex: The integrations return only status information needed to complete the request, such as accepted, authentication required, rejected, or failed; a user-facing message; an optional submission id; text character count for text submissions; and an optional file name for PDF submissions.
Diagnostics and support: We collect usage, diagnostic, security, and support information needed to debug issues, prevent abuse, secure the service, answer support requests, and comply with legal obligations. Production integration logs are designed to be redacted and must not include submitted content, full URLs, email addresses, passwords, tokens, cookies, authorization headers, raw backend responses, or file bytes.
We use your information to create and manage accounts, link ChatGPT or Codex to your Listen Later account, authenticate requests, receive submitted content, validate and download PDFs when requested, extract and clean text, parse PDFs or images when needed, generate audio, deliver podcast feeds and audio files, process and fulfill purchases, provide support, debug issues, prevent abuse, secure the service, and send service-related notices such as changes to terms or policies. We do not use your email address for unrelated marketing or promotional communications.
For ChatGPT and Codex submissions, the integration layer forwards approved text and PDF submissions to Listen Later so Listen Later can convert the content into podcast audio and deliver it through your personal feed. The integration does not sell digital credits, decide credit usage, or replace Listen Later account management.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it with third parties for their own advertising, marketing, or unrelated use. We share information only with service providers and processors needed to make Listen Later function, including hosting, storage, email receiving and sending, AI text cleanup, OCR and PDF parsing, text-to-speech and audio generation, RSS and audio delivery, payment processing, purchase fulfillment, debugging, security, support, and legal compliance.
When you use the ChatGPT or Codex integrations, OpenAI acts as the ChatGPT or Codex host and may receive the tool results described above so it can show you whether your request succeeded. We do not send your Listen Later password, app token, session token, or raw backend responses back to ChatGPT or Codex.
Submitted content and generated audio: Submitted content, extracted text, generated audio, and feed metadata are retained only as needed to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and support Listen Later. Generated audio files are stored for 60 days and are then automatically deleted from our servers.
ChatGPT and Codex integration records: OAuth authorization codes are short-lived. ChatGPT access tokens are verified for authorization and are not stored. Temporary PDF downloads are used only to validate and forward the PDF and are deleted after the Listen Later handoff succeeds or fails. The integration layer does not persist submitted text, raw prompts, extracted PDF text, or PDF bytes after Listen Later accepts or rejects the handoff.
Linked-account records: The integration stores the linked ChatGPT or Codex account reference and encrypted Listen Later email, app token, and session token only for as long as needed to keep the account linked, unless you disconnect the app, unlink the account, delete the account, or request deletion.
Logs, support, and legal records: Redacted integration logs are retained for up to 90 days. Support messages are retained as long as needed to answer and document the request. Payment, purchase, tax, security, fraud-prevention, and legal records are retained as required by law or legitimate business needs.
You control what content you submit. If you do not want content processed by Listen Later or its service providers, do not submit that content. You can disconnect or unlink the Listen Later app from ChatGPT or Codex through the account or app connection controls available in those products. You can also use Listen Later account controls where available.
To request access, correction, deletion, unlinking help, account deletion, or other privacy assistance, email contact@listenlater.net. We will handle requests according to applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting on account-specific requests.
We take reasonable measures to protect the personal information we collect from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no internet-based service is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Maybe Later LLC may modify this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the Listen Later platform or by email.
